Benefit Briefs:
Liquid carbon rich in humic and fulvic acids will activate your soils biological activity providing an increased release of nutrients to turf. Microbes use carbon as a food source.
Liquid seaweed rich in fulvic acids acts as a biostimulant containing over 60 trace elements and 1% total N and 3% total K. Seaweed will green turf quickly and provides good cold and heat tolerance.
Molasses feeds and stimulates microbial populations in the soil, which in turn breakdown organic matter making nutrients available to the plant. Molasses is very useful in strengthening and maintaining turf because the simple sugars immediately energize the plants (important during the summer when plant respiration is extremely rapid). Insects cannot dispel gases caused by sugars and will leave high turf sugars alone. Sulfur and trace elements provide additional plant nutrients from molasses.
Monty's 8-16-8 is 98% organic and 98% chelated which allows for fast uptake by the turf. Monty's contains a buffer to prevent burning regardless of the quantity applied. The addition of improved humic allows for rapid oxidation within the plant cells. This results in faster metabolism of all nutrients.
Producing high quality turf with reduced pesticide usage requires an accurate soil sample, which addresses available nutrients in the soil. Plant nutrition is the key in developing healthy turf that can ward off insect and disease pathogens. The more diverse and greater the soil microbial populations, the more productive and efficient the soil will be in producing top quality turf.
The Evergreen Program is not an Organic Program but more importantly a biological one. The foundation of any successful soil nutrient program rests on the "Nitrogen to Carbon Ratio". Protoplasm (living matter of all animals and plant cells) is a pivotal point in the balance between the "grow foods" (nitrogen or proteins) and the "go foods" (carbon or carbohydrates).
Another description of protoplasm is that it is the ideal composite of true proteins (amino acids) and simple and complex carbohydrates, which provide the optimum medium for immediate occupation of beneficial micro-flora and fauna. These organisms provide many benefits such as:
- Enzymes to digest organic raw materials such as topdressing, thatch, plant residues, compost etc.
- Provide the catalyst to mobilize tied-up nutrients such as phosphorus, calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, manganese, copper etc.
- Convert free unstable ammonia to nitrate
- Fix nitrogen from the atmosphere
- Produce anti-pathogenic compounds which buffer the plant from disease causing agents
- Buffer the plant from extremes of temperature, moisture, drought, and soil compaction
The Evergreen program's foundation of liquid carbon, molasses and seaweed greatly aids in producing the above dynamics. This leads to protoplasm creating soil friability. As well, pore space created with abundant oxygen presents, which quickly leads to vigorous root mass. Root secretions in turn create various Metabolites, which stimulate the growth of more microbes creating a self-reinforcing and self-sustaining biological cycle.
Evergreen Liquid Carbon
with Humic and Fulvic Acids
Evergreen Liquid Carbon rich in humic and fulvic acids will activate your soils biological activity providing an increased release of nutrients to your turf.
- Humic and fulvic acids facilitate oxygen uptake and intensifies oxygen metabolism.
- Humic and fulvic acids induce chelation, resulting in improved solubility of nutritional trace elements.
- Humic and fulvic acids heighten metabolism through increased plant metabolism.
- Applying humic and fulvic acids stimulates secondary root growth in young plants which is essential for phosphorus uptake.
- Root and foliar feeding of humic and fulvic acids greatly assists chlorophyll content.
- Promoting soil life will make more moisture available to the plants (soil bacteria is 70% water) reducing plant stress.
- Plants treated with humic and fulvic acids experience increased cell permeability and thus, increased uptake of nutrients.
- Humic and fulvic acids change the metabolic pattern of carbohydrates and thus cause an increased accumulation of sugar which helps prevent plant wilting.
- Carbon has the ability to greatly reduce salt levels.
- A natural product that will not burn plants.
- Increased microbial action will mediate the release of nutrients from organic materials providing season long feeding of the root system.
- Applied as a seed treatment, improved germination and seedling growth uniformity results by destroying harmful bacteria.
Why your soils require Evergreen Liquid Carbon
Annual fertilizer applications have lead to significant buildup of phosphorus, potash and other nutrients that are not being effectively utilized by plant roots. Liquid Carbon will provide the "engine" to utilize the "fuels" that are presenting your soils. At the same time harmful salts, pesticides, fungal pathogens and insect larvae are significantly reduced.
What is Evergreen Liquid Carbon?
Liquid carbon is a chemically processed (acetic acid) high-grade coal from reserves in Alberta. Evergreen Liquid Carbon is rich in humified organic matter and humic substances, which increase plant nutrient uptake and root development.
The Benefits of maintaining a High Brix Level
- A high brix reading indicates high sugar levels in the plant, resulting in reduced or elimination of bacterial, fungal and insect attacks.
- Crops with a high brix, higher solids content will have a lower freezing point and therefore be less prone to frost damage.
- Liquid Carbon stimulates plant enzymes to produce sugars in the plant.
- Molasses has the ability to raise the sugar levels in any plant, as well as providing a food source for liquid carbon, which in turn produces additional plant sugars.
